Q1. Does this modem depend on a live 2G network?

This is a 4G LTE model, so it runs where LTE coverage is available and does not depend on a live 2G network. The modules also support GSM, CDMA and WCDMA for areas where LTE is thinner. If your site is in a market where 2G has already been switched off, this SMS modem is built for exactly that situation.

Q2. Can it handle enterprise-scale sending volumes?

Each port handles roughly 3600 messages an hour, so all channels together move a substantial daily volume when they run continuously. Teams build an enterprise sms gateway around the unit by driving the pool from their own scheduling and retry logic and spreading a list across the cards. What you can actually push also depends on the per-SIM limits your carriers set, so plan the split with that in mind.

Q3. What SIM cards does it take?

Each of the 32 slots in this sms modem takes a 2FF mini SIM — the 15 mm × 25 mm size — and that is the default. Older 1FF cards can be used through an optional converter in the same slots. Every card sits on its own port, so a single SIM can be swapped without interrupting the other channels.

Q4. Is SMS Caster included, and can it handle scheduling?

Yes — SMS Caster and SMS Deliverer ship with the unit at no extra cost. The SMS sender supports timing tasks and intermittent sending, so you can queue a campaign for a set hour or pace it across the day instead of releasing everything at once. If you would rather use your own tool, the unit also accepts direct command control.

Q5. Can the pool receive messages as well as send them?

Yes — every port works in both directions, so replies, confirmations and two-way short codes come back through the same unit. You can dedicate particular cards to particular numbers, or keep a few SIMs free for inbound traffic while the rest run campaigns. Receiving runs over the same module set, so no second device is needed for reply traffic.

Q6. What do I need on the computer that runs it?

A standard USB port on the host machine is all that is needed — the unit presents itself as a COM interface and is driven through the bundled software or your own command tool. Each unit ships with an instruction manual, and our technicians can assist remotely if a port does not appear the first time you connect.
